The Friends of Ashfield House Group was developed as a way to encourage patient involvement, influence the development of local health services, exchange ideas and provide practical support within the community and the practice.
A PPG (Patient Participation Group) was set up at the practice in September 2011 (now known as Friends of Ashfield House) following a successful advertising campaign seeking interested patients to become members. There was an excellent response and in October 2011 the first meeting was held. Each meeting is supported with an agenda and minutes.
The group now has several members with a chair, secretary and treasurer, has its own notice board in the surgery, produces a quarterly newsletter, has provided toys and books for children in the waiting room, and attends local events of interest.
The group would welcome new members to join the group, so if you are registered at the practice, are interested in finding out more and would like to attend a meeting or if you would just like to speak to a member or ask a question please contact Carla Jones, Reception Lead at Ashfield House either by calling in or ringing on 01623 752153 or 752295 to leave your details.
The quarterly meetings are usually held on a Thursday afternoon at 1.30pm at the Acacia Centre Annesley Woodhouse, however the group would be happy to look at alternative times or days to suit any interested new members. (posters are displayed with the dates of each meeting at the Surgery and at the Acacia Centre).
